Terms
Terms of Use and Service
Effective 10 September 2026Last updated : 10 September 2026
These terms cover the use of herotaxi.ca and the rides provided by Hero Taxi. They are written to be read.
1Language
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the French version governs.
2Acceptance
By using this site or booking a ride, you accept these terms. If they don't suit you, please don't use the service.
3The service
Hero Taxi is a taxi service operating out of Vaudreuil-Dorion and serving the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, Montreal, Montréal-Trudeau airport, the West Island, and long-distance destinations by arrangement.
The service runs by reservation, 7 days a week, with a single driver and vehicle.
The service is operated by Haroun Riad, carrying on business under the name Hero Taxi. When you book a ride, he is the party you are contracting with.
4An online booking is a request
The form on this site sends a booking request. It is not yet a confirmed ride.
We call you back to confirm the time and availability. Your ride is booked only once we have confirmed it by phone, text or email.
For a same-day or urgent pickup, call 514-806-6036 rather than using the form.
5The price estimate
The site may show you an estimated price range before you send your request. Here is exactly what it is, and what it isn't.
- It is calculated by simulating the taximeter using the regulated tariffs in force, based on the distance and duration supplied by a mapping service.
- It accounts for your planned departure time, and therefore the day or night rate.
- It is an estimate, not a firm price. The actual price is the one the meter shows on arrival.
The final amount may differ if traffic, weather, a detour, a requested stop, waiting time or a change of address alters the route actually driven.
6Fares
Fares are those set by the Commission des transports du Québec for taxi transport: a pickup charge, a per-kilometre rate and an hourly rate, with a higher night rate. Displayed amounts include taxes.
There is no surge pricing: the price does not rise because demand is high.
For some planned trips, a price may be agreed in advance. That price then applies and does not change, unless you change the trip.
7Payment
Payment is made at the end of the ride, in the vehicle: Interac, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or cash. An itemised receipt is provided on request.
8Cancellation, lateness and no-shows
Cancelling
To cancel, call or text 514-806-6036. Cancellation is free — we only ask that you tell us as early as you can, so the slot can go to someone else.
If you're not there
The driver waits 10 minutes at the agreed address and tries to reach you. After that, the ride counts as a no-show. No fee is charged, but repeated no-shows may lead us to decline a future booking.
If we can't come
If something forces us to cancel, we tell you as early as we can and you pay nothing. We'll help you find an alternative if time allows.
9Your obligations on board
- Wear your seatbelt.
- No smoking, vaping or drug use in the vehicle.
- Treat the vehicle and the driver with respect.
- Damage or soiling of the vehicle may be charged to you at the actual cost of cleaning or repair.
The driver may refuse or end a ride if safety is compromised, if behaviour is abusive, or if the number of passengers exceeds the vehicle's capacity.
10Children, luggage and animals
Children. Tell us your children's ages when you book. If you would like a car seat used, please bring your own.
Luggage. Vehicle capacity is limited. Let us know in advance about an unusual number of suitcases, skis, a wheelchair or any bulky item, so we can confirm it will fit.
Animals. Guide dogs and service dogs are always welcome. Other animals are accepted in a carrier, with advance notice.
11Lost items
Call us as soon as you can. Items found are kept for 30 days and you can collect them or arrange a return. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle.
12Delays and things outside our control
We do everything we can to arrive on time. Traffic, road closures, weather, a mechanical breakdown or any other circumstance outside our control may cause a delay.
For a flight, train or fixed appointment, allow a comfortable margin and tell us the latest time you must arrive — we'll plan the departure accordingly.
13Liability
Hero Taxi holds a taxi permit, as well as the insurance and authorisations required for paid passenger transport in Quebec.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way for bodily or moral injury — the law forbids it, and it is not our intention.
Otherwise, our liability is limited to direct damages arising from the service, and we are not responsible for the indirect consequences of a delay, such as a missed flight or appointment, where that delay arises from circumstances outside our control.
14The website
The site's content — text, images, logo, code — belongs to Hero Taxi and may not be reproduced without permission.
We aim for continuous availability without being able to guarantee it. The site may be interrupted for maintenance or by a provider outage.
The information you provide must be accurate. A wrong address can cause a delay or a missed ride.
15Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute falls to the courts of the judicial district of Beauharnois, Quebec.
Nothing here limits the rights the Consumer Protection Act gives you.
16Changes
We may amend these terms. The version in force is the one published on the site at the time of your booking.
